HOW TO USE AN AJNAMAT
Here are just a few suggestions of uses for Ajnamat.
There are many variations of each position, and every person may like to customise them to suit their individual needs.
If you're brand new to the magic of Ajnamat, we suggest wearing a thin layer of clothing until you become accustomed to the unique sensation.
Hold each position for between 5-45 minutes to experience the best results.

BACK & NECK
GREAT FOR:
- Pain in the back, shoulders, and neck
- Headaches and migraines
- Inducing sleep
- Calming the nervous system
- Fibromyalgia
The most popular way to use the AJNAMAT, and our suggested starting point, is to lay with your back on the mat. Remember, if you are new to acupressure mats, you car wear a thin shirt, or place a thin sheet between your skin and the spikes until you are used to the sensation.
You can place your mat on any surface, such as the floor or bed.
Any intense sensation will dissolve after about 5 minutes and you can then expect to start to feel the benefits of the mat. Your muscles will relax and any feelings of pain, stiffness and tension should start to alleviate.
Ajna's unique body forming pillows provide a deeper release than those filled with hard foam.

HIPS AND GLUTES
GREAT FOR:
Excessive tension in the hips and glutes can cause a host of problems, such as back pain, and sciatica.
You can use your mat to massage into these areas and release tight muscles and fascia.
Using your pillow will increase the intensity and allow you to massage deeper into the muscle.
Take your Ajnamat or pillow to yoga for a pre or post class massage!

FEET & LEGS
GREAT FOR:
- Heavy, tired legs
- Improving circulation
- Swollen ankles
- Plantar fasciitis
- Energy boost
- Reflexology
Stimulation of pressure points in the feet, also known as reflexology, is said to affect areas of the feet that practitioners believe correspond with organs in other parts of the body.
Standing on your AJNAMAT can revitalize and refresh you. We recommend starting out in socks and working up to bare feet. After a while you may gently lift one foot up for a stronger effect on the standing foot.
