How did your journey into holistic health begin?

My journey into holistic health began during a time when I was suffering from weekly migraines. My doctor at the time wanted to put me on preventative medicine, which did not feel good to me at all. So I started to do more research in the field of alternative medicine. I tweaked my diet, incorporated meditation, yoga, acupuncture, superfoods and herbs and much more. After a few months my migraine started to be less frequent, and after a year they were fully gone. I never looked back after hat and holistic health became my lifestyle and my passion.

Do you have any routines that keep you feeling good?

I do! My wellness routines are what keeps me health and happy. I start my days with a big glass of water and my journal. I sometimes pull a card or just sit in silence. I think starting your day in peace and quiet can make all the difference in how your energy is the rest of that day. I always try to make sure that I stretch and get out in nature after lunch, as this really helps me to stay grounded. And my evening ritual is my favorite one, I brew myself a cup of herbal tea, spend some time on my pressure mat as it really helps me sleep, and before I close my eyes I take some of my beloved herbal tinctures and put essential oils in my bedroom diffuser.

What are your preferred ways to practice self care?

I’m a huge fan of essential oils, so making my own self care recipes is something I really enjoy doing. I love making bentonite clay face masks with essential oils! But self care to me is also taking a break on the busiest moment of the day, taking a hot shower, going on a hike in the woods, or sleeping in on Saturday. It is easy to practice self care on a free Sunday night, but real self care is in making time for yourself on stressy days when you really need it.

Ajna is related to intuition. Can you think of a time that you listened to your intuition rather than other people’s opinions?

I have a very healthy relationship with my intuition, and it helps that other people’s opinion don’t really matter to me anymore. I’m a huge introvert, and listening to my intuition is what helps me set boundaries and keeps my energy high. I really had to learn to say no, and know that it is okay to do so. If we turn inward and really connect with our intuition, we will find the answer to every question we might have.

If you could give one piece of advice to yourself ten years ago, what would it be?

I would have told myself to trust the universe and trust the flow of life. It is so easy to grab onto emotions, and fears and thing we want to control. But in reality, allowing change, letting go and trusting that this too shall pass is what brings us peace and growth. I have learned that if the universe takes something from us, she will always replace it with a lesson or a gift. Both needed for us to become more of who we are.

What’s your favourite Ajna Wellbeing product?

My favorite Ajna Wellbeing product is my Ajnamat, I take it with me everywhere I go and I use it every single night before I go to sleep. I have seen a huge improvement in the quality of my sleep since I started using it. This is a product I would recommend to anyone and will never be without!
